Overview — What is Ledger® and Ledger Live?
Ledger® is a family of hardware wallets that keep private keys offline. Ledger Live is the official companion app (Desktop and Mobile) to manage crypto — check balances, send/receive, and install apps on your device. Install & initial setup
- Visit https://www.ledger.com/start and follow the hardware setup guides for your model.
- Download Ledger Live: Ledger Live Download — choose Ledger Live Desktop (Windows / macOS / Linux) or the mobile Ledger Live App.
- Open Ledger Live and choose Create new wallet or Restore device. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
Troubleshooting common issues (login & connection)
If you encounter problems like Ledger Live login, Ledger Login not working, or Error Connecting Ledger Account, try these safe steps:
- Ensure device firmware and Ledger Live are updated (use Ledger Live Download to get the latest installer).
- Try a different USB cable or port, and reboot your computer and device.
- Use the official Ledger Help Center for device-specific fixes and troubleshooting guides.
- If Ledger Live App not Working after an update, completely reinstall Ledger Live and re-open your account (your seed phrase is required for restore — do not enter it into any website).
Account recovery & security
Ledger® does not store your recovery phrase — it is the only way to recover your accounts. If you see messages like Unable to login Ledger or Can't verify Ledger Wallet, follow the official recovery flow: restore using your 24-word recovery phrase on a trusted Ledger device or a verified partner tool only as specified by Ledger documentation. Never share your seed.
2FA and advanced account access
Ledger accounts rely on the device + recovery phrase model rather than centralized 2FA. If you’re told to perform a Ledger 2fa reset, verify the request with Ledger Help Center first. Avoid any third-party promise to “reset 2FA” — consult official support at Ledger Help Center.
